Scion Brings iQ to the US of A

AMERICA – F*&K YEAH! Toyota wants to bring their Smart Car sized two-seater iQ to the United States branded as a Scion. No word on whether or not the iQ name tag will remain on Scion’s vehicle, but this micro-subcompact is destined to be a top selling city car, and fits the design make up of edgy, generation-twitter car buyers who purchase Scions.

One can assume the iQ will keep its 1.3 liter 4-cyl. pumping out a tiny yet impressive 99 horse power. A 3-cylinder with only 68 horse power may also be available from your Toyota/Scion dealer, which is perfect for those going between Brooklyn and the financial district on weekdays. Scion will unveil a micro-subcompact concept car at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. The concept reflects Scion’s youthful image and represents a new segment for the brand aimed toward the growing urbanization trend.

Production versions of the xB urban utility vehicle, tC sports coupe and xD urban subcompact five-door will be on display in the Scion space as well as five highly-modified vehicles that debuted at the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

If I wanted the 1.5 I’d buy a Yaris, or a used Echo. Are you listening Toyota!!!???

  3. I would love to buy the i q, if it were available with automatic transmission- got 60 miles to the gallon, and was available starting at about 15 grand – please get it on the market soon – I need a new car.

  4. [...] have reported on Toyota’s attempts to get the iQ to American markets, and we hope a production ready (for the USA) mini car will hold a decent amount of extras, with a [...]
