Scion xB has been known for its pointy corners and boxy look. While 2011′s model retains much of the basic design, xB has a new, rounded off look for next year. xB’s been retooled both inside and out – Scion’s shrunk the grill on this mighty van, revised both front and rear bumpers, along with a lighting change. You can also choose from a couple new colors – including the “toughly” named “Army Rock” and “Elusive Blue.”

What we really like talking about, and looking at, is the updated interior in 2011′s Scion xB: with center console receiving a sliding armrest; the instrument cluster tweaked to improve readability; and the steering column now incorporates tilt and telescoping functions. Under the hood – 2011′s xB contains a 158 horse power, 2.4-liter engine, which can be mated either to a five-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic.

Scion xB pricing will rise by approximately $150, so expect to pay base $17,340 and automatic-equipped cars, $18,290. Look for 2011′s xB to hit Scion dealerships later this March.

Alpine supplies the 200-watt audio and navigation system, with a 4.3-inch touch screen, USB connectivity, RCA outputs, and HD radio. RS 6.0 is due to hit dealers in March. But for now, when an Auto Show comes to your town, check it – you may get a chance to test a Scion tC.

The latest Scion tC Ad, called “Streak” wants you to “Zag when others Zig” – so why does the 2010 tC look like every other Scion tC? We’ll give Scion/Toyota credit for a catchy, clever ad. Yet, as they text asks you to be original, we can’t help but notice the all new tC looks a heck of a lot like previous models that have been on the road since 2005. Maybe after another 5 years Scion will start to look into design changes.

You can see a full-sized copy of the ad produced by ATTIK of San Francisco, CA. We know there is only so much one can pull off with a car ad these days. And as we do enjoy the magazine style layout of “Streak” – I guess we just wanted a little more out of Scion.
SCION ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR tC RELEASE SERIES 5.0 – TO BE DISPLAYED AT THE 2009 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

Scion, of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., announced today that the only limited-production tC for 2009, the tC Release Series 5.0 (tC RS 5.0), will have a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) theme and be available at dealer showrooms in March. The 2009 tC RS 5.0 will be on display in the Scion space at the Chicago Auto Show, February 11-22, for media and public days.

The 2009 tC RS 5.0 features gloss black exterior paint and numerous performance products from TRD. TRD edition 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, in matte black with red trim, and red TRD lowering springs provide this tC with its menacing presence. For additional stability when cornering, the tC is fitted with a red TRD rear sway bar. A TRD sport muffler gives the tC RS 5.0 an aggressive sound signature, while a TRD exterior badge marks the car. A black rear lip spoiler will also be available.

The TRD theme is continued inside with a black leather steering wheel featuring red stitching, black seats with red accents and floor mats with the TRD logo. The tC RS 5.0 is also equipped with a cargo mat. Individually numbered badging completes the uniqueness of this vehicle.

No more than 2,000 units of the tC Release Series 5.0 will be built. The tC RS 5.0 model will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $2,300 over the base price of the tC. The base MSRP for the standard tC with a manual transmission is $17,000, while the standard tC with an automatic transmission model carries a MSRP of $17,800. The available black spoiler has a MSRP of $285, not including installation.

The delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee for all Scion models is $670 and is not included in the MSRP. DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.

The Scion car company’s xA subcompact five-door hatchback has been replaced in 2008 with the xD. What you essentially get is the same vehicle, but with upgraded styling, power, features and more!

The interior can seat up to five passengers and the backseat is 60/40-split. It can recline 10 degrees and move forward or back 6 inches. This allows great versatility to the trunk storage space and gives this subcompact an exceptional cargo capacity. The dual-compartment glove box and various hidden storage compartments scattered around the car only add to the cargo capacity.

Further conveniences include an integrated vehicle gauge cluster for easier viewing for the driver, MP3 capabilities, power features, air conditioning, remote keyless entry and more! All of this keeps safe with six standard airbags, including front side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags for everyone and of course the front airbags. Also standard are antilock brakes. Optional safety features include an electronic stability system and traction control; Scion makes sure this vehicle stays safe!

All of this gains momentum with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 128 horsepower. This is teamed with a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed automatic transmission. Combine this new engine with the refined exterior of the xD and you have yourself a quality 2008 vehicle.

Nimble, safe and eye-catching are a few words that begin to describe this new Scion vehicle. Check it out today, and follow by customizing it to your liking with dozens of after-purchase add-on accessories!

Appealing to the younger market, the Scion branch of Toyota Corporation has been creating innovative automobiles since 2003. Because of its youth, Scion has few vehicles in its lineup; however, these few vehicles receive star treatment in their construction. The xB compact station wagon is one of these, and it really catches the eye.

The unique shape is what you’ll first notice. One could argue that the boxy exterior resembles that of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. For 2008, the wheelbase and length have been increased and the vehicle now sits closer to the ground. Some styling revamps to the curve of the vehicle, the front headlights and grill also give the xB a fresher appearance for the New Year.

Scion listened to its customers input and has upped the power of the xB. The new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive; a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift provision and overdrive is optional. All of this power propels the sizable five-occupant interior. Not only can the passengers fit in with room to spare, but also the cargo space has increased dramatically because of the extended car length. The 60/40-split backseat can also fold to expand the carrying capacity. A trip computer is provided to the driver, and it displays vehicle diagnostics, external weather, gas mileage and more. Other features that come with the 2008 xB include remote keyless entry, power features, an air conditioning unit and audio systems. Of course, the post-purchase add-on accessories that Scion is famous for only add to all of this, except you get to pick only what you want.

In addition, standard with the vehicle are traction control, an electronic stability system, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes and six standard airbags. These airbags include side-impact for the front seats, side-curtain for both rows and the standard frontal airbag system.

All of the new power and standard features only add to the appeal of this aesthetic road machine. The 2008 Scion xB is worth a look at, younger and older drivers alike!

Originally, a Toyota concept car, the Scion tC has become this Toyota-owned company’s compact sports coupe. With some changes in body pieces, technology, power and more, the tC comes back in 2008 as prevailing as ever. Of course, what remains unique to Scion is the option to customize your vehicle with various options after the purchase. This is just the drawing board for which you can draw your ideal picture.

The new silver-colored accents in the interior cabin give a distinguishing look to the center control cluster, dashboard and other sections of the boundaries. The five-occupants that can fit inside stay contented with air conditioning, impressive stereo system, MP3 capabilities and a panoramic moonroof/sunroof. The rear seat is 60/40-split and allows for a 45 degree recline. These confines keep safe with a frontal airbag system, including driver’s knee airbags as standard and optional side-impact and side-curtain airbags to boot. Not only airbags, but also the 2008 tC comes with all-disc antilock brakes and an impressive safety rating under its belt.

The front and the back of the tC have been revised. Underneath the altered front sits a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is integrated with Variable Valve Timing and a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

The 2008 tC drives great, is conveniently operated and is a nimble road warrior waiting for you to check it out!
