2008 Scion xB Review, Pictures & Video

Appealing to the younger market, the Scion branch of Toyota Corporation has been creating innovative automobiles since 2003. Because of its youth, Scion has few vehicles in its lineup; however, these few vehicles receive star treatment in their construction. The xB compact station wagon is one of these, and it really catches the eye.
The unique shape is what you’ll first notice. One could argue that the boxy exterior resembles that of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. For 2008, the wheelbase and length have been increased and the vehicle now sits closer to the ground. Some styling revamps to the curve of the vehicle, the front headlights and grill also give the xB a fresher appearance for the New Year.
Scion listened to its customers input and has upped the power of the xB. The new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive; a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift provision and overdrive is optional. All of this power propels the sizable five-occupant interior. Not only can the passengers fit in with room to spare, but also the cargo space has increased dramatically because of the extended car length. The 60/40-split backseat can also fold to expand the carrying capacity. A trip computer is provided to the driver, and it displays vehicle diagnostics, external weather, gas mileage and more. Other features that come with the 2008 xB include remote keyless entry, power features, an air conditioning unit and audio systems. Of course, the post-purchase add-on accessories that Scion is famous for only add to all of this, except you get to pick only what you want.
In addition, standard with the vehicle are traction control, an electronic stability system, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes and six standard airbags. These airbags include side-impact for the front seats, side-curtain for both rows and the standard frontal airbag system.
All of the new power and standard features only add to the appeal of this aesthetic road machine. The 2008 Scion xB is worth a look at, younger and older drivers alike!
